Foodies, it is a sad day

Today I learned that KFC has a certain "sandwich" on their menu called the Double Down, and apparently it's been out for testing since 2009, which is probably a good indicator that this product is not something ordinary, normal consumers would probably consume. So what exactly is in a Double Down? At first it sounds harmless: bacon and cheese with the colonel's special sauce. But here's the greasy catch: the sandwich has no bun. The bun is instead...

...two pieces of fried chicken, instead of a traditional bun.

Yes, CHICKEN! Crispy, oily, greasy, artery-clogging, deep fried chicken. This burger is an Adkin's dream come true. And what's worse, KFC claims it's under 600 calories. KFC, if you're reading this, no one is fooled. The entire KFC creative team should be fired. And people wonder why Americans are so overweight and obese.

I leave you, unfortunately, with a picture of the gluttonous offender. Don't stare at it too long-- you might feel the urge to barf, as I did.

Chocoholics, beware!

Anyone shop at Trader Joe's? If so, you must try their Black Cocoa Almonds. As the label says, these tantalizing little almonds are "dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in black cocoa." Between you and me, I think whatever they roll these in contains some sort of addicting property. These are so yummy that I can never manage to have just a few. In snapping these pictures for this post, I managed to eat a handful of them.

As one loyal fan of these almonds says, "You feel like you've committed a crime after eating them...and the evidence is all over fingers and lips."

If the shoes fits...

Hello bloggers! How sad is it that I've only posted a couple times so far this month? School and work have been so busy that I've hardly had any time to myself, let alone to blog.

Today's topic: SHOES! Who doesn't love shoes? I have a theory as to why women are so drawn to shoes: no matter what our weight is at, cute shoes ALWAYS fit and our shoe size hardly ever you might be having a "fat day," but hey, at least the shoes still fit, right?

Here's a cute pair I've been eyeing...oh Nordstrom, how you tease me.

And you thought April 15th was a bad thing!

Perhaps in an effort to make tax day more bearable, Starbucks is offering the following freebie to its customers on April 15th, aka dreaded-tax-day-where-post-office-lines-are-insanely-long.

Enjoy! :)

He is risen!

Happy Easter! Christ is risen!

"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" Luke 24:5-6
