Taking Care of Myself

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I am linking up with Shay for "How We...Wednesdays."  Today's topic is, how we take care of ourselves.

1.  Sleep more!I have a Fitbit, which monitors how much sleep I am getting per night and the quality of it as well.  One of my new year's resolutions was to sleep more (I used to average 6 hours a night, and now I am up to 7).  The goal is to get to an average of 8.  I already feel such a big difference!

2.  I've started drinking lemon and hot water in the morning.  A coworker of mine does this daily and swears by it, so I started doing this in January.  I don't feel a difference yet, but I do feel a bit more energized.

3.  Exercise!  I work out with my trainer once a week, attend at least one boot camp class a week, and try to do either cardio or weights (or a combination) on three other days.

4.  Tracking what I eat.  I use MyFitnessPal to track what I am eating, mainly to make sure I'm getting the vitamins I need and also enough protein (which I have a hard time doing-- I could easily survive without meat).

5.  I end each day with quiet time to myself where I can pray and reflect on my day.  Then I spend about a half hour before bed reading (another resolution for this year-- to read more!).  I am currently reading this book, which is the second one in the series.  So good!

6.  I've started drinking more tea and less coffee this year.  My favorite time to have it is in the afternoon, after lunch.  I usually will brew my own at the office (this is one of my favorites) or pick up a Venti tea from Starbucks (I love their Peach Tranquility tea).
