San Diego pictures

As promised, here are some pictures from my vacation in San Diego. I thought I would do a photo diary of some of my favorite spots of the city.
(Click on pictures for enlarged viewing).

The Gaslamp District

This area is the historic part of downtown San Diego that has numerous restaurants, lounges, clubs, and small shops. Even at 1 am on a Sunday, you will find hundreds of people walking around.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room
I'm not much of a seafood lover, but the food here was amazing! It didn't taste fishy one bit, which is usually the issue I have with seafood. I had the Firecracker Red Grouper for dinner.

Seaport Village

Established in the 1980s, this small, quaint village houses restaurants and small gift and coffee shops.

Chocolat Cremerie
If you love gelato, this is the place to visit. They have over 15 flavors to choose from and sample. I highly recommend the Nutella flavor if you're a chocolate hazelnut fan.

The Waterfront
No words needed...so beautiful!

Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade
This beautiful promenade runs parallel to the trolley and railroad tracks of the city. Throughout the walkway, MLK Jr. quotes are engraved on the pavement.

The US Grant Hotel
Like many buildings in San Diego, this hotel is a registered historic landmark. Built in 1910 by Ulysses S. Grant, Jr., son of President Ulysses S. Grant, who named the hotel after his father, this hotel has housed famous guests such as Albert Einstein and and FDR.

  5. You crack me up with all the food photos you take at restaurants. Do you use a real camera and use flash? Or do you use your camera phone w/o flash?

  6. Brent-- I use a real camera with the flash...I have no shame in whipping it out at the restaurant and taking pictures of my food. ;)
